Training in MECC
Training ensures that individuals have the skills, knowledge and confidence to Make Every Contact Count. Here you will find a range of e-Learning resources which provide the underpinning knowledge to support the delivery of very brief or brief interventions. Combined with the practical skills gained from face-to-face training, these resources will enable individuals to be well equipped when having healthy conversations with the people they work with.
The National MECC Advisory Group has developed a quality marker checklist for training resources to support organisations in implementing and sustaining MECC programmes. It provides organisations with a set of quality markers for developing new training materials and evaluating existing training.
A number of organisations in the public and voluntary sectors have already developed MECC training resources to meet the needs of their staff and clients. A range of delivery methods for training, from online e-learning packages to face-to-face training sessions, can be found below.
